Ayubowan! Welcome to my Sri Lanka Travel Blog.

I would like to firstly introduce myself as a proud mother of two beautiful boys, I’m a Sri Lankan and I’m a travel fanatic.

I first left Sri Lanka at a tender age of 14 to study in Orange County, California, USA. I then decided to go to Melbourne, Australia where I attended University and worked and enjoyed the Aussie way of life.

When I met the man of my dreams, we tied the knot and we decided to move to Dubai. After 3 years living and working in the UAE, we moved to Gurgaon in North India where both our kids were born.

Just last year (August 2010, to be exact) we made a final move back to our beloved homeland, Sri Lanka.

We are completely settled at home now in Sri Lanka. We love being back and I’ve started work as a travel agent at Target Travels Sri Lanka. As an ardent traveler, to me, this is a hobby I’m getting paid to do. How fabulous is that?

As a family, we do atleast one overseas tour a year. In 2009 we toured Easter Europe (with a one year old and a 3 year old). In 2011 we toured Greece, Portugal and Spain (this time with a 2.5 year old and a 4 year old). And earlier this year we did a fabulous 24 day tour of China and Hong Kong. We get out of Colombo almost every month… or every chance we get.

Travelling and holidays are in our family blood and without it we truly feel claustrophobic.

So basically what I’m trying to get at is:

As a Sri Lankan, a travel agent and a frequent traveler that explores this island regularly, I would say I am more than fit to discuss travel related issues of Sri Lanka. My travels and job keep my facts and information about Sri Lanka up to date and I want to use this blog to make travel in to Sri Lanka as pleasant, accessible and as easy as possible.

Secondly, as a mother who travels with her kids, I am well aware of the anxieties and many questions parents may have before travelling to a new country. Once again I aim at addressing as many issues in relations to travelling to Sri Lanka with kids as possible.
